Enter Remy LeBeau, better known as Gambit. A charming Cajun with a penchant for thievery, Gambit is hired by Sybil Zane and Bolivar Trask to steal a device from the X-Men – one that can neutralize mutant powers. His allure lies not only in his agility and kinetic energy manipulation but also in his mysterious past and roguish charm.
As Gambit infiltrates the X-Men’s world, he encounters Logan. Their relationship is layered – a mix of distrust, shared history, and reluctant camaraderie. Logan, ever the loner, questions Gambit’s motives, but circumstances force them to work together. Their interactions reveal hidden depths, and the tension between them crackles like a charged card.
Thieves’ Gambit sets the stage for Gambit’s complex role – a thief with a conscience, caught between loyalty and survival. Animation captures his lithe movements and smouldering gaze, promising intrigue, betrayal, and unexpected alliances.
Prepare for a high-stakes game where trust is scarce, and secrets abound. Gambit’s entrance to this series leaves us wondering: Is he friend or foe?
Magma, a young former student of the Institute is being pursued relentlessly by the Mutant Response Division (MRD). When cornered, she transforms into a fiery, lava-like being, halting cars in their tracks. Wolverine swoops in to rescue her, using an ingenious invention: an ability-inhibitor collar crafted by Forge. This collar tempers Magma’s volatile powers, granting her control.
But the collar becomes the coveted prize. Dr. Sybil Zane, a shadowy figure, hires the enigmatic Gambit for a daring heist. His mission? Steal the collar from the X-Men and deliver it to Senator Kelly. The stakes soar as Wolverine steps into the fray.
Gambit, a master thief with a penchant for danger, confronts Wolverine. Their clash reverberates through dimly lit corridors and secret laboratories. Kinetically charged cards fly, revealing Gambit’s true colours – he’s in it for the cash. But Wolverine, ever the wild card, sets his money ablaze and doubles the offer. He needs Gambit’s help to unmask the puppeteer pulling the strings.
As the battle unfolds, secrets surface. The collar isn’t merely a device: it symbolizes power and control over mutant abilities. The fate of mutants hangs in the balance, and alliances shift like quicksilver.
Wolverine’s relentless pursuit leads him to Gambit, who holds a vital clue. The trail twists through low-level Sentinels, Dr. Zane, and Bolivar Trask. Gambit flees, leaving the collar behind, while Dr. Zane and Trask slip through Wolverine’s grasp.
Back at the X-Mansion, the collar rests in their possession. But Wolverine knows better – they need stronger locks, not just on the collar, but on their fragile world.

Amara Aquilla made her debut in New Mutants #4 and has since been an integral member of the X-Men’s student roster. Originating from Nova Roma, a concealed city in Brazil steeped in ancient Roman traditions, she brings a unique heritage to the team.
In this narrative, Forge is credited with the creation of the inhibitor collars, a concept further developed by Gottfried Adler and Forge in X-Men ’97. This technology plays a pivotal role, notably in the Neutraliser device that strips Storm of her abilities in Mutant Liberation Begins.
The Thieves’ Guild, the family that took Gambit under their wing, makes a brief appearance early in the episode, highlighting their reluctance to cross the X-Men.
A notable event occurs in Gambit #8, where Gambit infiltrates the Xavier Mansion to expose secrets that led to a temporary dissolution of the team, known as The Shattering. Gambit’s iconic bo-staff is featured, maintaining a connection to his classic portrayal.
