PERSONAL NOTES OF CHARLES XAVIER
“Today, my reflections rest upon Ororo Munroe, the remarkable woman the world knows as Storm. Few have graced this Earth with her profound connection to nature and the elements, a bond so deep that the very winds seem to whisper her name and the heavens themselves respond to her will.
I remember the day she joined the X-Men vividly. She emerged from the plains of Africa, a goddess in the eyes of the people who revered her. Her mutant gift – the ability to command weather – was nothing short of awe-inspiring, yet it was her grace, her innate elegance, and her unwavering moral compass that truly set her apart. Even as she took her place among us, there was an undeniable majesty to her presence, a reflection of the strength and purity of spirit that would guide her through challenges no ordinary being could fathom.
Over the years, Ororo has blossomed into a force beyond compare. She is not merely a wielder of nature’s might but an Omega-level mutant whose power resonates with the very fabric of creation. Her ascendancy has never been solely about strength, though; it is her wisdom and compassion that illuminate the path she walks. Her decisions have always been grounded in a profound sense of justice and a deep respect for life in all its forms, making her both a formidable leader and a trusted friend.
From her time in our family to her crowning as the Queen of Arakko, Ororo’s journey has been one of constant evolution. As Regent of the Solar System, she has carried the weight of entire worlds upon her shoulders with the same elegance and poise that define her. Leadership has come naturally to her – not because she seeks power, but because power seeks her. Her presence commands respect, her words inspire, and her actions unite.
Now, as the currents of destiny shift once more, Ororo finds herself navigating the treacherous waters of politics. It is a domain as unpredictable as the storms she commands, yet she approaches it with a resilience and adaptability that echo her indomitable spirit. It would surprise no one who knows her to see her excel in this arena, for politics, like the forces of nature, is a system of chaos and order – and who better to master it than the woman who tames the tempest?
As I consider Ororo’s journey, I am filled with admiration for the balance she has maintained between power and humility, strength and kindness, leadership and service. She is, and always will be, a beacon of hope and a reminder of the extraordinary potential that lies within us all. Storm is not just a name or a title; it is the embodiment of transformation, of the beauty and ferocity of nature itself, and of the spirit that stands unwavering in the face of any challenge.”

VOICED BY: Iona Morris (Season 1); Alison Seely-Smith (Seasons 2-5, X-Men ’97)
Ororo Munroe was born in Africa in a small village near Mount Kilimanjaro. She developed her powers early and used them to help her village. Although she has no children of her own she helped another woman give birth to her son. However, the child died so Ororo breathed life into him and the child lived. The child was named M’JNari and the two thought of each other as family [Whatever It Takes].
As a child Ororo was almost buried alive. This caused her to develop claustrophobia, which would continue to affect her throughout her life [Deadly Reunions].
She encountered a man calling himself the Shadow King. Professor Charles Xavier had to come and save her [Xavier Remembers]. Ororo then joined Xavier’s X-Men along with Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Morph, Gambit, and Rogue. She took on the codename Storm. She was third in command under Xavier and Cyclops. Wolverine arrived later and Storm noted how many on the team felt he could not stay there, but did anyway.
Rogue and Storm rescued Jubilee from a Sentinel attack at Salem Center Mall. When Jubilee awoke in the X-Mansion, it was Storm who took her to one side and explained the X-Men and their school. [Night of the Sentinels (Part 1)].
Storm was an active leader on the team, leading the X-Men into battle on more than one occasion [Enter Magneto, Deadly Reunions]. She battled Callisto and won, claiming the leadership of the underground Morlocks [Captive Hearts] and was also instrumental in exposing Genosha’s mutant slave trade [Slave Island].
The Shadow King also emerged, possessing M’Jnari, but Storm and Rogue stopped him. Her weather and temperature control was pivotal in battle against Russian super solider Omega Red [Red Dawn]. Red would continue to hate Storm as a result [A Deal with the Devil]. At some point, she even travelled to Battleworld and aided Spider-Man in a battle against the Beyonder, alongside other Earth heroes [Spider-Man: Secret Wars].
By the time Xavier had left Earth to recuperate from an assassination attempt, Ororo defended Magneto and the UN council from an attack from the Friends of Humanity, and was hit with the Neutraliser ray that removed her access to her mutant powers [Mutant Liberation Begins]. Storm fled the team, and encountered the Shaman Forge, who had sought her out [Lifedeath (Part 1)].
He had knowledge of the neutraliser, but they were attacked by the demon Adversary. Confronting the creature, Storm accessed her powers, wearing a new costume and with renewed control [Lifedeath (Part 2)]. She and Forge returned to the X-Men to battle Bastion, with Forge assuming Ororo dead after the final battle… [Tolerance is Extinction].

After the explosion in the X-Mansion, Storm was living in Africa, in peace [Hindsight (Part 1)]. The Shadow King telepathically took over her body and made her think the entire village was on fire. Using her powers to the best of her abilities she proceeded to create violent waves, strong winds, frightening lightning, thunder, and hailstorms resulting in turbulent wasteland. The X-Men then came to recruit her back to the team and stop her from using her powers. After a telepathic probe of Ororo’s mind, Emma Frost discovered that she was under Shadow King’s control and a battle then ensued between him and Emma on the Astral Plane, with Emma being victorious. Storm was then released from the Shadow King’s mental control, realizing what she’d done and immediately using her powers to reverse the effects. After an invitation back to the team, she left Africa once more and rejoined the X-Men [Overflow].
