His journey led him to Lila Cheney, the intergalactic rock star, where he served as her roadie and bodyguard. But fate had other plans. When the Shadow King took control of Muir Island, Guido was among those manipulated into brutal arena fights. It was there that he first crossed paths with the X-Men, and when the dust settled, he found himself recruited into X-Factor.

As an X-Factor operative, Guido embraced his role with humor and bravado, but beneath the jokes was a man searching for purpose. He fought alongside Havok, Polaris, and Wolfsbane, proving himself time and again. Yet, his mutation remained a ticking time bomb. The strain of absorbing too much energy nearly killed him, forcing him to step away from the team.
