“There are few men I have encountered in my lifetime whose hatred burns so fiercely that it eclipses reason itself. William Stryker is one such man. He cloaks his cruelty in righteousness, wielding his faith as both shield and weapon, convincing himself that his crusade against mutants is divinely ordained. But I have seen the consequences of his fanaticism first hand, and I know that his actions are not the will of any benevolent force – they are the product of a mind poisoned by fear and prejudice.

Stryker has long sought to eradicate mutants, believing them to be an affront to humanity’s natural order. He has experimented on them, tortured them, and twisted science to serve his own warped ideology. His most heinous creation, the Purifiers, is a testament to his ability to manipulate others into sharing his delusions. These zealots, bound by his doctrine, have committed atrocities in his name, their hands stained with the blood of innocents. I have lost students to their violence – young lives extinguished before they had the chance to flourish. And worst of all, Stryker himself orchestrated the massacre of a bus filled with mutant children and their families, an act so vile that even his most devoted followers should have recoiled in horror. But they did not. They cheered. They believed.

I have spent my life fighting for coexistence, for understanding. I have tried to show the world that mutants are not a threat, that we are simply another thread in the fabric of existence. But men like Stryker remind me that hatred is not easily undone. It festers, it spreads, and when given a voice, it can lead to devastation. I mourn those we have lost, and I vow to protect those who remain. Stryker may believe himself to be an agent of divine justice, but history will remember him for what he truly is – a murderer, a zealot, and a man who let his fear consume him.”

William Stryker is a military scientist with a deep-seated hatred for mutants, playing a pivotal role in Wolverine’s past. Stryker was the leader of Team X, a covert mutant task force. He manipulates Logan into joining his operations, but when Logan grows disillusioned with Stryker’s ruthless methods, he leaves. Stryker later orchestrates the Weapon X program, forcibly subjecting Logan to the painful adamantium bonding process, erasing his memories in the process. His obsession with controlling mutants leads him to create Weapon XI, a genetically modified mutant killer, but his plans ultimately fail when Wolverine and Sabretooth defeat the experiment [X-Men Origins: Wolverine].

Years later, Stryker resurfaces as a high-ranking military official, continuing his anti-mutant crusade. He has been experimenting on mutants, including his own son, Jason, whose telepathic abilities he exploits to manipulate others. Stryker launches an attack on Xavier’s school, capturing several mutants and coercing Professor X into using Cerebro to wipe out all mutants. His plan is thwarted by the X-Men, and he meets his end when Wolverine leaves him to drown as the dam near Alkali Lake collapses [X2].

However, Wolverine’s journey into the past may have altered the timeline significantly. In 1973, a younger Stryker is involved in mutant experimentation, capturing Wolverine and other mutants. Mystique, disguised as Stryker, rescues Wolverine, hinting at a possible change in his fate [X-Men: Days of Future Past]. Despite this, the real Stryker is still active, abducting mutants and continuing his unethical experiments. He imprisons several X-Men at his facility, but they manage to escape, ensuring his plans do not come to fruition [X-Men: Apocalypse].
