“Illyana Rasputin’s journey is one of tragedy, transformation, and power. She was once an innocent child, the beloved younger sister of Piotr Rasputin – Colossus. But fate had other plans for her. Taken into the demonic realm of Limbo, she was forced to endure horrors no child should ever face. There, she was shaped by the dark sorcery of Belasco, molded into something far beyond the mutant she was born to be.
Her time in Limbo changed her irrevocably. She emerged not as the girl she once was, but as Magik – a warrior, a sorceress, and a ruler of a realm that had once imprisoned her. Illyana Rasputin, the younger sister of Colossus, makes a brief appearance when Colossus recalls rescuing her from in front of an out of control farm vehicle. When Omega Red took control in their home province, Colossus convinced the X-Men to help him retake his village from the villain and free his countrymen. His little sister was amongst the prisoners.
Years later, Morph would transform into an older Magik, suggesting an unseen adventure with the X-Men that has yet to be shared [Fire Made Flesh].

Illyana Rasputin, known as Magik, is a powerful mutant with the ability to teleport and wield dark sorcery that sets her apart from her fellow patients at Milbury Hospital.
Unlike the others, Illyana embraces her abilities, using them to navigate between dimensions and summon her Soulsword – a mystical weapon forged from her own essence. Her connection to Limbo, a dark alternate realm, grants her immense magical power, allowing her to summon eldritch amor and command her pet dragon, Lockheed.
Despite her strength, Illyana’s past is marked by trauma. As a child, she was tormented by monstrous figures she called the Smiley Men, leading her to create Limbo as a refuge. Over time, her imaginary world became real, shaping her into the warrior she is today. Her hardened exterior often puts her at odds with her fellow mutants, particularly Dani Moonstar, whom she initially bullies. However, as the group faces their greatest threat, Illyana proves to be a key protector, using her abilities to fight the Demon Bear and defend her friends.
