NOTE FROM PROFESSOR CHARLES XAVIER: My former records show a previous listing for a ‘Wade Wilson’ operating with a group called Team X at the time of the Chernobyl disaster in April 1986. However, these records, and all mention of this mercenary, apparently known as Wade Wilson, have been removed. The reasons for this are unknown. Perhaps he never existed or was ‘pruned’ from the timeline by the TVA. Deadpool apparently has knowledge of this variant, insisting that he himself killed the ‘silent <expletive removed>, <expletive removed>’ and he “should never have been written in the first place.” As I have no conscious wish to telepathically probe Deadpool’s brain to discover the meaning behind his words, I fear this discrepancy will never be solved.
Wade Winston Wilson was once a highly skilled mercenary, operating in the shadows and taking jobs that required precision, brutality, and a disregard for conventional morality. His life took a drastic turn when he met Vanessa Carlysle, a woman who saw beyond his hardened exterior and brought a sense of purpose to his otherwise chaotic existence.
However, Wade’s world was shattered when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Desperate for a cure, he was approached by a mysterious recruiter who promised salvation through an experimental procedure. What followed was a nightmare – Wade was subjected to torturous experiments designed to awaken latent mutant abilities. The process worked, granting him accelerated healing, but at a terrible cost: his body was left horribly scarred, and his mind fractured even further.
Emerging from the ordeal, Wade adopted the identity of Deadpool, a wisecracking, unpredictable antihero with a penchant for violence and fourth-wall-breaking humor. His first mission was simple – hunt down Ajax, the man responsible for his suffering, and force him to fix what had been done. Along the way, he crossed paths with the X-Men, particularly Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, who attempted (and failed) to recruit him into their ranks [Deadpool]
Despite his chaotic nature, Deadpool proved himself capable of heroism, saving Vanessa and ultimately defeating Ajax. But his story didn’t end there. In subsequent battles, he found himself entangled in larger conflicts, including protecting the young mutant Russell Collins from a time-traveling soldier named Cable. Though his methods were unconventional, his heart was in the right place – he fought not for glory, but for the people he cared about [Deadpool 2].
Deadpool’s journey took an unexpected turn when he was approached by the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an organization tasked with maintaining order across the multiverse. Offered a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wade instead sought out a reluctant ally – Wolverine, a variant from another universe.
Logan, weary and battle-worn, had long since abandoned the fight. But Deadpool, ever persistent, convinced him to join forces in a desperate attempt to prevent the TVA from erasing his own universe. Their partnership was anything but smooth – Wolverine’s gruff demeanor clashed with Deadpool’s relentless humor – but together, they faced threats that spanned across realities [Marvel Studio’s Deadpool and Wolverine].
WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN

FIRST APPEARANCE: Hulk vs. Wolverine
VOICED BY: Nolan North
Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool, played a chaotic and unpredictable role in the events surrounding Weapon X’s pursuit of the Hulk. As a member of the elite strike team alongside Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, and Omega Red, Deadpool was tasked with capturing both Wolverine and Bruce Banner, ensuring that Weapon X could harness their abilities for experimentation.
True to his nature, Deadpool approached the mission with his signature humor, taunting both his teammates and his targets alike. While the others maintained a ruthless efficiency, Deadpool treated the battle as a game, cracking jokes even as he engaged Wolverine in combat. His regenerative abilities allowed him to withstand brutal injuries, including having his arm sliced off – an inconvenience he quickly remedied thanks to his healing factor.
However, the plan unravelled when Wolverine and Hulk broke free from captivity. As chaos erupted, Deadpool found himself on the receiving end of the Hulk’s wrath, forced to flee as the enraged behemoth tore through Weapon X’s forces. In the end, Deadpool’s survival instincts kicked in, leaving him to escape rather than continue the fight.
