FIRST APPEARANCE: No Mutant Is An Island

Adopted by Purple Man, Boom-Boom was used for her mutant abilities so Killgrave could intimidate his way into local affairs. When Cyclops suspected him of mistreating the mutants in his charge, he exposed the Purple Man [No Mutant Is An Island]. Boom-Boom was later seen on Genosha, shortly before the Tri-Sentinel Attack. Her fate is unknown [Remember It].

Tabitha Smith, better known as Boom-Boom, is a carefree and rebellious mutant with the ability to create explosive energy spheres, often referred to as “time bombs.” Her powers allow her to generate and detonate these orbs at will, making her a formidable force despite her playful nature.

She joins the New Mutants, a younger group of students at the Xavier Institute, where she trains under the guidance of the X-Men. Despite her new affiliation, Tabitha remains a wild card, frequently bending the rules and causing trouble. Her rebellious nature leads her to form the Bayville Sirens, a vigilante group alongside Jean Grey, Rogue, and Kitty Pryde, where she takes a more proactive approach to fighting crime.

Tabitha eventually becomes a member of the Brotherhood of Mutants, aligning herself with Mystique, Avalanche, Toad, and Blob. However, her independent streak and disregard for authority make her an unreliable ally, often clashing with Mystique’s leadership. When Mystique returns to take control of the Brotherhood, Tabitha decides to leave, seeking a new path.

WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN

A student at Xavier’s, when the explosion occurred, Tabitha returned to her mischievous existence and was captured into custody by the M.R.D. Wolverine and Beast liberated Boom-Boom and several others, but she rejected their offer to remain with the X-Men and left for places unknown.
