Wolverine is off on his own in Stolen Lives, an episode that serves as a direct sequel to Past Discretions, reintroducing Mystique, Maverick and Sabretooth, himself set up as an antagonist in the Hulk vs. Wolverine movie. Part of the intention of this series was to have Wolverine in several solo adventures throughout its first season. This episode nicely fits that description.
Wolverine receives a warning from Mystique that Maverick’s daughter is in danger. This leads him to confront his past and the remnants of the Weapon X program. The episode delves into themes of redemption, the consequences of past actions, and the bonds formed through shared experiences.
As Wolverine teams up with Maverick to rescue his daughter, they face old enemies and uncover hidden truths about their pasts. The story highlights the struggle to protect loved ones while confronting the darker aspects of one’s history, emphasizing the ongoing battle between personal demons and the desire to do good.
Logan receives an anonymous call from someone that tells him that Kristy Nord, daughter of former Team X assignment Christopher Nord, is in danger. Logan checks in with Kristy, who’s pleased to hear from him and he tells her he’s coming to her, just to check in.
By the time Logan gets to Kristy’s cabin, she’s gone, but it’s clear she put up a fight. Mystique appears, reveals herself to be on a personal mission in regards to the Weapon X project and would like Logan to help. He doesn’t trust her, but agrees.
In the Weapon X facility, Cornelius is concerned: Wolverine and Mystique are cooperating and are on their way in his direction. The Professor is not worried – Sabretooth is already on site. Mystique and Wolverine spend their journey discussing her revenge plan: she lost the man she loved to the project and wants revenge.
Getting into the facility, the pair race through to find Kristy, but face opposition in the form of Sabretooth and Maverick. This triggers more memories, and Logan remembers the project and him and Raven Darkhölme, aka Mystique: he was the man she loved. In order to aid her escape, James Howlett, aka Logan, was recaptured and his memories wiped. He had no memory of Raven after that. As Maverick battles Wolverine and Mystique takes on Sabretooth, the facility is evacuated, including a young girl named X23, who the Professor tells Wolverine is his legacy.
The base explodes, and Maverick is shaken by seeing Kristy. They manage to escape, with Logan heading home, but not before a poignant moment with Raven, where he acknowledges their relationship.
Home at the school, Emma reveals that Maverick’s memories, like Wolverine’s are jumbled, but she is able to bring back the recognition of his daughter and Kristy and Christopher are reunited.

Mystique is not connected to the Weapon X project in the comics. Her relationship with Logan here is akin to the one he has for Silver Fox in the original comic storyline.
Laura, aka X23, aka the future Wolverine, is seen being held in a white, padded cell, which is identical to her comic book origins.
The Professor has replaced his hook with a prosthetic hand, presumably to make him more child-friendly!
Logan is called James Howlett, his true name as revealed in the Origin miniseries.
